Day 25 of 100, Hannover, Germany

Accidentally threw away the sheet of paper I’d originally written today’s post on, so this is a recollection, a couple of days late.

What I remember of Saturday was squinting into the mid-afternoon glare downtown, as it bounced off glass and metal, strong enough to turn even paving stones reflective in its intensity. Stopped to marvel at the long sharp shadows of people walking into the underground. It’s the kind of light that makes shooting a particular kind of street almost too easy, where every silhouette is ominous in its insistence, every shadow a drama on surface. Utterly irresistible.

I miss it. More these days when I spend long spans of time at the equator (Singapore is 1 degree off), where the light doesn’t fall to earth with that impeccable slant.

One of Emily’s most famous opening salvos. From there, however, you two are Frostily divergent… ;-)

    Lovely, lovely images here, Charlene.

Finally catching up on your posts while stuck at Baghdad airport with a visa snafu. There is always drama.
