A Fujifilm Video Rig

I have a new setup for shooting video. Several months ago, I filmed the XF 16-55 F2.8 promo video with a borrowed XT-1 and 23mm lens, a stabilizer cobbled together from Flemming’s Gorillapod and 3 kilos of lead sinkers, and no lighting of any kind. It looked like this: It’s a big departure from the picture at the top of the post. More on the whole experience here. Fast forward 4 months and I’m properly equipped with a quality, lightweight video rig, courtesy my sponsors (yep, I’m officially sponsored!). The line up: Fujifilm X-T1 Fujinon XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens (fabulous stabilization!) Fujifilm MIC-ST1 microphone (not pictured) Cineroid L10C-VC Swedish Chameleon SC4:Small Shoulder Support) With much gratitude to my sponsors: Fujifilm Nordic for the XT-1 camera body, 18-135mm lens and MIC-ST1 microphone Goecker Denmark for the Cineroid …

Fujifilm 16-55 Promotional Movie from Charlene Winfred on Vimeo. For most of December, Flemming and I have had the pleasure of making stills (him) and a promotional movie (me) for the brand new, highly anticipated Fujinon XF 16-55mm f2.8 lens that’s just been released. We had a musician create the original soundtrack this time. Tusind tak the brilliant Rasmus Kjærbo for great work on this project! Video I shot the video on a gorgeous Graphite Silver Edition X-T1 with a XF 23mm f1.4, both on loan from Fuji Japan. The X-T1 was pre-loaded with the new Version 3.0 firmware. Read about my experience making this video with a lightweight, all-Fuji setup. Stills Flemming’s sample images (crazy clean, contrasty, vibrant JPEGs straight out of the camera) can be found here. Massive thanks …

Italy: A weekend, a wedding and the Fuji X-E2

Mali & Bram’s Wedding,  Puglia region, Italy. When: Sept 5 -7, 2014 Where: Masseria Montenapoleone Gear used Body: Fuji X-E2 Lenses: 35mm f1.4, 23mm f1.4 At the start of September, I headed to the Puglia region in Italy to shoot Mali and Bram’s wedding. Mali is my niece (although we are the same age; the family tree is complicated), and living continents apart as we do, we don’t get to participate in the big moments in each other’s lives much. So their big day was a special day for me too.

Happy hour

Apparently, it ain’t so happy in some parts. Nørrebro, Copenhagen. My thanks to Ib Thordal and Fuji Denmark for the loan of the XE-2 and 56mm f1.2 that was used in the making of this picture. My X-Pro 1 is showing signs of eventual failure (more on this later), and the Danish Fuji office very kindly lent me some gear for the summer so I can deliver whole images to the music festivals that Flemming and I will be shooting for the next couple of months.
