Talk

Last month I gave a talk for Norwegian photo retailer Foto.no, about heading about going around the world with my camera. I was speaking as a brand ambassador for Fujifilm, so all the comms is “Fuji,” but I said barely anything about the cameras, camera systems, or anything to do with the technical side of photography (spoiler alert: I never talk tech to the depth that people seem to want me to. I just don’t find it that interesting).

Instead, what this talk is about, was the privilege of travel, with attendant photographic evidence. It gave me the chance to show work from the last decade of my archives. It also made me realize what an absolute mess my archives are and that I should really do something about this… but that’s a story for another day.

The one sad thing about this talk, is that that rectangle with my face had to be placed right over my captions. FFS. Only realized this afterwards, when the replay was available. Because of the geographic stretch of this talk, those captions were designed to anchor the audience to where the photo was situated. That obviously didn’t happen. Oh well. It is what it is!
