I’d been out walking for some hours that afternoon, and by the time I caught the LRT, I was spent. The air-conditioned (thank the gods!) LRT was a relief from the heat and humidity. As I watched the lady in the facing row of seats doze, I felt my own eyes un-focusing in sympathy, lulled into a pleasant torpor by the geometry of the shopping mall outside the window.
