The World on my Walls

Singapore

2 years ago, my sister Chris got me this wall decal as a gift. Tonight, I finally put it up, seized by a fit of industry and daring at midnight.

It was always going to be a right mess. I almost lost Europe in a massively sticky tangle – the United Kingdom is rough around the edges and a bit worse for wear. Russia insisted on folding in on itself, and the entire Asian continent would have benefited from a critical step back and a spirit level. The smaller bits of the United States kept falling off, along with one corner of big Canada. South America was easy enough to smooth out, but was determinedly bubbly. I now know that the wall on that section more uneven than the other. But heck, it’s up, and tonight I’ll dream of the Antipodes, which ended up right above my pillow.

These walls have been bare since we lost Dad 7 years ago. It’s fitting that a gift from 世界最好的姐姐 / verdens bedste søster / the world’s best sister should break the bleakness.

Thanks Chi ❤️

You are missing Denmark! How is that possible, of all the countries?

It didn’t come in the pack! Neither Denmark nor Singapore made it, haha!

Were you actually talking about the decal or the world in general?

Hope New Zealand is in there, they get missed out a lot

    1. Charlene says:

      Depends on who’s reading, Ned.

NZ’s definitely in there. Wouldn’t be the Antipodes without it.
